Members of Wareham's Cub Scout Pack 39 had a lot to celebrate at their annual Blue and Gold Banquet on Saturday, Feb. 27, as this month marked the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America, and three Cub Scouts "crossed over" to become Boy Scouts.

David Chalmers, Matthew Hiede, and Jacob Cannata all received the "Arrow of Light" awards that signified their advance from the Cub Scouts to the Boy Scouts.

Many other Cub Scouts received awards in the forms of patches and belt loops representing the boys' many accomplishments in the past year in such diverse areas as  fishing, archery, swimming, BB-gun shooting, fitness, citizenship, computers and many other sports and academic areas.

Award-winning Tiger Scouts were introduced by leaders Alicia Childress and Heather Parker and included Justin Childress, Michael Parker III, Joseph Pearle, Benjamin Bailey, Jacob Cardinal, Anthony Sciaraffa, Brandon Minkle, Alex Tousignant and Wylde LaTulippe.

Wolf Scouts leader Holly King presented awards to Syler King, Jaedon Hoistington and Nicholas Card.

Award-winning Bear Scouts, who were presented awards by leader Sarah Schluter, included Justin Schluter, Matthew Pearle, Matthew DiPietro, Vyper LaTulippe, Daniel Minkle, Harley Sprague, Wil Oullette, Andrew Flory, and Billy Prentice.

Webelos leader David Chalmers Sr. presented awards to Zachary Collins, David Chalmers, Matthew Hiede and Jacob Cannata.

After the ceremony, the boys and their families celebrated with a 100th-birthday cake and ice cream.

The Cub Scouts would like to extend an invitation to any young boys who would like to become members.  For additional information on how to join, contact Cub Master Holly King at kingerfamily5@comcast.net.
