Cynthia "Cindy" Maxim, 79

Sep 10, 2020
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother and sister. Cynthia "Cindy" Maxim passed away at the age of 79, due to complications from covid-19 on August 25, 2020 at 12:45 am. This is a heartbreaking moment for our entire family.

Cynthia was born on October 12, 1940, in Boston, MA, to Josephine and James Wishart. Cindy graduated from Hingham High School in 1958. She worked hard to provide for her three small children, Robbie, Jamie and Bonnie even if it meant working several jobs at a time.  On June 29, 1973 Cindy married the love of her life Raymond Maxim, in Wareham. She spent a good majority of her life in this small town. Years later, Cindy and Raymond welcomed their daughter Jodie.

Cindy enjoyed being outside, doing yard work, staying active, watching any sporting event, watching Jodie play sports, ice cream and absolutely loved animals of all kinds. Our mother was kind, loving, gentle, beautiful, patient, and sweet to everyone she met. Cindy always held a warm smile that people still talk about.

Later in life, our mother suffered from the effects of Alzheimer's. Anyone who has met our mother is lucky enough to have been touched by an absolute angel on earth and now in Heaven.

Survivors include her husband Raymond of Land O' Lakes, FL, and her four children, Robert Van Etten of W. Yarmouth, MA, Jamie Van Etten of Bourne, MA, Bonnie Whitney of W. Wareham, MA, and Jodie Maxim of Land O' Lakes, FL, and two grandchildren Matthew Whitney of Carver, MA, and Lincoln Maxim of Land O' Lakes, FL, as well as her sister Nancy Eldredge of Sugarloaf, FL and many other relatives and friends.

We hope you are enjoying those white Russians up in Heaven, Mom. Please watch over us until we meet again. Mother, you are loved beyond measures and we will hold you in our hearts every day until we can hold you in our arms again. We miss you already.
