Kick off the Cape Verdean Festival weekend with a dance at Onset’s Dudley Brown VFW Hall on Friday, August 11 from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. — doors will open at 7 p.m.

Dance to the tunes of the Boston band, Perfect Example; Vocalist Colleen Marshall; and the musical stylings of Lady K.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

During the event, several members of the community will be honored for their contribution in keeping the Cape Verdean Culture alive.

This dance is sponsored by Oak Grove Cape Verdean Cultural Center, Inc. and is held as a fundraiser to help support the center’s scholarship program.

Two Wareham High School 2023 graduates were awarded scholarships by the center.
