David B. Chandler, 56, of Onset passed away Monday, May 2 at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford after a long illness. David was born in Wareham the son of the late Edward and Helen (Rich) Chandler. He attended Wareham Public Schools and loved to spend time with his family and friends.

David worked as a mason tender for Charlie’s Masonry of Onset and drove a taxi for Yellow Taxi in New Bedford prior to his illness. He was an avid professional wrestling fan and was well known in Onset and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his sisters: Eleanor Westgate of Onset and Sharon Atfield of New Bedford. He was the uncle of Tammy Cardoza and her husband Charlie of Onset, Stacey Chandler of Onset, his very special niece Carrie Hill and her fiancé’ Alicia Moore of Onset and Jason Westgate and his life partner Jamie O’Connel of Onset. He was the great uncle of: Charles Cardoza Jr., Jared, Jason Jr., Puff, Jacob, Alyssa and Jaylynn Westgate, Darnell Chandler and Keven Costa Jr.. He also leaves behind Shannon Rice whom he considered a son and his cat Bubba.
