Little Harbor Country Club will host a disc golf event from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday with the newly formed Cranberry Country Disc Golf Association, organizer Marcus Gomes said.

A temporary disc golf course will be set up at the golf course, allowing visitors to stop by and play the game.

Disc golf is similar to regular golf, as players try to finish each hole in as few throws as possible. Players toss frisbees around and over obstacles in an attempt to land their frisbee in a basket. The game has gained popularity elsewhere in the South Coast.

Scott Radford of Disc Golf 978, a disc golf retailer in Fitchburg, will help supply the rental baskets at Little Harbor, Gomes said in an email.

“The Cranberry Country Disc Golf Association’s mission is to spread disc golf education [and] awareness through Plymouth County via clinics, putting league/instruction, and the design of temporary [and] permanent courses,” Gomes said.
