The deadline to obtain a dog license without paying a late fee is approaching.

Late fees take effect April 1. To obtain a license, dog owners must bring a copy of their pet’s rabies certificate to the Town Clerk’s office in Town Hall at 54 Marion Road. Before April 1, the cost to license a spayed/neutered dogs is $10 and $13 for unaltered dogs.

Those 70 years and older may receive one free dog license per household. Late fees still apply, however. The late fee, which will be charged on top of the regular fee, is $10 per dog.
