Dog licensing deadline extended

Mar 25, 2020

The Board of Selectmen voted at their March 24 meeting to delay the deadline for registering dogs until June 30.

Noting the current coronavirus pandemic and closure of Town Hall, the board agreed that it was reasonable to give people extra time.

All dogs in Wareham must be licensed. A valid rabies certificate is required for licensing. For spayed or neutered dogs, a license costs $10, and a license for intact dogs costs $13. A dog license form was attached to the bottom of the town census, which was mailed out in January.

To register a dog, mail an original copy of a current rabies certificate and/or a spay or neuter certificate along with a check or money order payable to the Town of Wareham, along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Town Clerk, 54 Marion Rd.

The Clerk will register the dog and mail the tag and paperwork back to the applicant.
