Donation bolsters veteran’s parade organizing efforts

Aug 27, 2024

The Wareham Veterans Day Organization has received a $500 donation from the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office.

On August 26, the Organization's President, retired Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Stanton, accepted the donation from District Attorney Timothy Cruz.

Cruz stated he was "pleased" to make the donation which "represents funds seized from drug dealers," and went on to say that he was "happy this money will be used to support this event." He wished the Parade Committee continued success with the "worthwhile program" that honors our veterans.

The Wareham Veterans Day Parade, the second to take place after a six-year hiatus, will return on Monday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. on Main Street. The Parade Committee continues to seek sponsorship donations from local businesses as well as participants in the parade. For more information, email warehamvetsdayorg@gmail.com.
