Dorothy M. (Graves) Mattos, 85, of Wareham, died Jan. 26, 2022, at home. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph E. Mattos, Sr., who died on Jan. 24th.  

They had been married for 68 years. 

She was the daughter of the late William and Ana (Lopes) Graves and the foster daughter of the late Antonio and Fingencia (Desiree) Baptiste.

She was born in Boston and lived in Wareham for most of her life. 

Mrs. Mattos worked as a Supervisor at Cape Cod Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Buzzards Bay for many years before retiring.

She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening, bowling and raising her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Deborah Little and her husband, William of Cartersville, GA, Sandra Britto and her husband Julius of Rochester, Linda Nix and her husband Damon of Onset and Joseph Mattos, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Golden Valley, AZ; 10 grandchildren; her sister, Carol Jackson of Chicago; 7 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. 

Her funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022, from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. 

Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
