Eagle Scout sets up food drive
Prospective Eagle Scout Tyler Stinehour is looking to the community for food donations as part of his upcoming Eagle Scout project. Stinehour will be building, and trying to stock, a storage space for the St. Patrick’s Church Food Bank.
Stinehour, of Wareham Troop 39, will be at the St. Vincent de Paul’s Food Bank located at St. Patrick’s Church on Saturday, Aug. 9.
His project consists of building a long counter with storage underneath in the main section of the food bank and building shelves for storage in their storage area. At the same time as this construction is being done at the location, Stinehour will be conducting a food drive for non-perishables to help stock his newly built shelves.
Stinehour is a Upper Cape Cod Technical Regional High School junior in the carpentry shop.
Over the years, Stinehour has worked with members of his family at St. Patrick’s Table, which puts together a lunch every Wednesday open to anyone who needs a meal. St. Patrick’s Church is the charter organization and meeting place for Troop 39 of Wareham.
Anyone who would like to donate food can stop by the church on High Street between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Aug. 9.
