Edward J. “Ted” Guenard, 58, of Wareham, died December 8, 2010 at home in the presence of his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. He was the husband of Joan R. (Rycroft) Guenard and the son of the late Harry A. and Ruth E. (Moorhouse) Guenard.

He was born in Attleboro and lived in Mansfield before moving to Wareham 16 years ago. He graduated from Cedar Brook SDA School in Attleboro.

Mr. Guenard was a Marine Technician at Burr Brothers Boats in Marion. Previously, he was a service manager at an automobile dealership in Mansfield, a carpenter in Florida, and he had crewed and captained yachts in the Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, and West Indies.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Onset. He loved God and his family, fishing, and sailing.

Survivors include his widow; a niece, Bryn Seyle of Loma Linda, CA; 3 nephews, Preston Seyle and his wife Heather of Riverside, CA; Nathan Rycroft and his wife Makayla of Allston and Christopher Rycroft of Woodbridge, VA; 2 brothers in law, Robert Rycroft of Bethlehem, Ct and David Rycroft and his wife Lisa of Woodbridge, VA; his mother in law, Rev. Lois Rycroft of Wareham; 2 great nieces, Sierra and Marlee Seyle of Riverside, CA; several cousins and friends.

Visiting hours were held on Sunday, December 12, 2010 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home. His memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 in the Emmanuel Assembly of God, 15 Highland Ave., Onset.
