Edward L. Doolan, 70, of Wareham, died Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River unexpectedly. He was the husband of Kathy A. (Medeiros) Doolan.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late John F. & Marie D. (DeBlois) Doolan. He graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton and received his B.S. in business administration from Northeastern University in 1974. He began his career in retail management working for Angelo’s Supermarket and was known as a “People Pleaser.” He then moved to Carlisle, PA where he owned and operated his own store “The Sweet Spot,” where he sold cards, comic books, candy, sports memorabilia, and collectibles. After returning to Massachusetts, Mr. Doolan worked for Ocean State Job Lot as an assistant manager for many years until his retirement in 2017.

Mr. Doolan enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, and baseball cards.  He was a hardworking and supportive father, proud grandfather, and loved spending time with his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy A. Doolan of Wareham; his children, Jennifer A. Rademacher of Haskell, TX, Kelley J. Doolan of Warwick, RI, James G. Doolan of E. Falmouth, Christopher R. Doolan of Plymouth and Scott V. Doolan of W. Warwick, RI; his siblings, Patricia A. Gillespie of Plympton, John B. Doolan of Scituate, Denise M. Johnson of Apollo, PA, Jeanine H. Pate of Palm Coast, FL, Richard J. Doolan of Canton, and Marie D. Wessels of Bellingham; his grandchildren, Sabrina, Bethany, Autumn, Caoilfhionn, Alina, Emily, Anthoni, Aiden, Elizabeth, and Kimberly; and his great grandson, Josiah.

His funeral will be from Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham on Wed., Apr. 20 2022 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 – 7 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be at a later date.
