Elks host Christmas gathering

Dec 29, 2021

The Wareham-New Bedford Lodge of Elks #73 held an early Christmas celebration for kids on Saturday, Dec. 20. After breakfast, Santa came to say hello.

The annual event is intended to show appreciation to the Lodge’s volunteers. Teddy Hatch of the Lodge said that the organization’s programs — including support for veterans, seniors, students, the elderly and the needy — all take “dedicated folks that donate their time and effort to accomplish our mission.”

“This event is a little appreciation to them and families for all their sacrifices and time spent to aid in these special programs,” Hatch said.

Hatch said that the more than 100 children in attendance all received gifts — including one boy who at first could not find his. Later, it was located near the Grinch!

Hatch wished a Merry Christmas to all from the Wareham Elks.
