Ellen J. Sempos, 85, former owner Town & Country Cleaners

Ellen J. (Butler) Sempos, 85, died Friday, August 19 at Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion. She was the wife of the late Chris E. Sempos.

Born in Wareham the daughter of the late Francis and Ann (Kiernan) Butler, she graduated from Wareham High School and Boston University.

Mrs. Sempos was a teacher at Wareham High School for several years and along with her husband, owned and operated Town & Country Cleaners in Wareham for 36 years. She was also a homemaker and a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham.

She is survived by her daughters, Connie Carbone and her husband Raymond of E. Wareham, Christine Haden of Bourne, Kathleen Sempos and her husband Bruce Kelenosy of Wareham, and Martha Sempos and her husband Byron Eldridge of Osterville; her son Robert Sempos and his wife Joyce of Falmouth; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham on Tues., Aug. 23rd at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Agawam Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4 – 7 p.m.
