Elmer F. Gross, Jr., 80

Elmer F. Gross, Jr. 80, of Wareham, passed away at home with his family at his side on Sunday, June 16, 2019. He was the son of the late Elmer F. and Margaret (Silvia) Gross Sr.

Mr. Gross was born in Taunton and attended Middleborough Public Schools, graduating from Middleborough High School in 1956. He retired from Stop and Shop several years ago were he had worked as a Dairy Manager. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. His true passion was playing Cribbage and he loved the simple life. He had many faithful companions and was survived by his 10 year old black Lab “Sha-Keera.”

Elmer is survived by his sister, Nancy Vaughn of Wareham, his loving nephews; Richard Ekstrom and his wife Lisa of Lakeville, Michael Ekstrom and his wife Tonya of Florida, Scott Ekstrom and his fiancé Donna of Middleborough, Stephen Ekstrom and his wife Irene of Middleborough and Ronald Ekstrom of Wareham. He was also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

A memorial prayer service will be held in accordance with his wishes on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 6:15pm in the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center Street Wareham. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 pm.
