Evelyn E. Mallowes, 82
Evelyn E. Mallowes, 82, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on May 22. She was the wife of the late Howard L. Mallowes, Jr.
Born June 14, 1931 in Wareham, she was the daughter of the late Maria L. (Tosi) and Howard F. Maxim. She attended Wareham schools and lived her whole life between Wareham and Marion.
Mrs. Mallowes accompanied her late husband on many business trips, V.F.W. installations and U.S.S. Chickasaw (ATF-83) ship’s reunions which took them all over the country. She also enjoyed the many cruises she took with her son Bill. Mrs. Mallowes enjoyed her trips to Maine and Florida with her girlfriends, trying new recipes, cooking, hosting large family gatherings and going out to dinner with friends and family. She enjoyed watching Monday night football and was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. But, most of all, she enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Mallowes was a member of the Benjamin D. Cushing V.F.W. Post # 2425 Ladies Auxiliary in Marion and the Agawam Antique Auto Club.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Youngson and her husband Bill of Wareham, Howard L. Mallowes, III of Dartmouth, William J. Mallowes and Cathy A. Mariner and her husband Kevin all of Marion; her grandchildren, Kristi Klueber and her husband Tim, Karon Canica and her husband Kyle, Jeffrey Dutton and his wife Rachel, Howard L. Mallowes, IV and his wife Holly, Angela Costa and her husband Ryan and Jonathan and Julianne Mariner; her great grandchildren, T.J. Klueber, Justin and Jillian Sumner, Jacob and Lucas Dutton, Kailey Mallowes, Howard L. Mallowes, V, Juliana and Domenic Mallowes; five sisters, Margaret Stec, Nancy Connolly and Dorothy DeBlois all of Wareham, Joanne Osborn of Milford, NH and Barbara DeMello of New Bern, NC; two brothers, Charles H. Maxim of Wareham and Raymond Maxim of Tampa, FL; her sister in-law, Dorothy Beauchemin and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, the late Frances Lewis and her sister in-law, the late Beatrice Weygand.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, June 14 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
