Fire rips through Ninth Avenue home

An investigation led by fire officials concluded the cause of a blaze that ripped through a home at 3 Ninth Avenue in West Wareham on Saturday, June 11 was an accident.
According to Wareham Fire Department Captain Mike Dykas, no one was hurt in the fire. The two people living in the single story home were there at the time and made it out safely, Dykas said.
Twenty-five firefighters from the Wareham Fire Department and the Onset Fire Department responded to 6:40 a.m. call. Wareham EMS also responded.
The fire caused an estimated $200,000 worth of damage to the building, according to the Wareham Fire Department.
