Five-mile walk brings wealth of donations
As 80 pairs of feet walked the streets of Wareham, shuffling along familiar streets, the participants all united to take a stroll for a worthy cause.
Turning Point held the the Wareham Area Clergy Association’s third annual Wareham Walks for the Homeless, which saw walkers take a five mile trek through town on Sunday, May 18. Sponsorships and donations raised $14,346 for Turning Point which helps South Coast communities with housing security.
Executive Director Shirley Santos said the event exceeded expectations.
“The generosity of so many and contributions of the walkers are greatly appreciated," Santos said.
The Clergy Association has announced that the fourth annual Wareham Walks for The Homeless has been scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 2026.
“We’ll keep walking until everyone has a home,” said event organizer Pastor Dan Bernier of Good Shepherd.
