Francis W. Bessey, 90, of West Wareham, died Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion. He was the husband of Elizabeth L. (Peck) Bessey. They were married for 70 years.

Born in South Paris, ME, he was the son of the late Walter and Helen (Pearl) Bessey.

Mr. Bessey was the owner and president of F.G. Adams Trucking Co. in Middleboro for 42 years. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1946 to 1949. He loved animals, especially his dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; two daughters, Susan Cunha of Lakeville, and Kathy Harrington and her husband Curtis of Carver; four sons, Michael Bessey and his wife Janet of W. Wareham, Edward Bessey and his wife Mary and Timothy Bessey and his wife Maureen all of Rochester, and Brian Bessey and his wife Kelly of Lee; his daughter in-law, Katherine Bessey of Rochester; 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his son, the late Thomas Bessey; his son in-law, the late Alan Cunha; and his grandson, the late Paul Francis Bessey.
