Garden Club cultivates plant sale success
Shoppers gave small trees, hydrangea, shrubs and hundreds of flowers new homes to plant their roots on Saturday, May 16 at the Wareham Garden Club’s spring sale.
Customers lined up before doors opened to dig through bargains on garden art, bird houses, baked goods and other garden-related items amid Saturday’s sunny weather.
According to the Wareham Garden Club, members donated perennial plants, vegetables and herbs that they brought from their gardens. Attendees also tasted crackers with herb-laced dip and lavender lemonade cookies to show what plants could produce.
According to Marsha Ledbury, a member of the Wareham Garden Club, the club was thrilled with the turnout for the plant sale.
Leftover plants were put in public spaces like the Lopes Playground in Onset, Ledbury wrote in a message to the Wareham Week
