Gateway Jr. Vikings defeat Franklin 1-0, tie Attleboro 3-3.

The Gateway Jr. Vikings ended their Sunday, March 4 game against Attleboro with a 3-3 tie, and defeated Franklin 1-0 on February 24.

The Attleboro game started off evenly matched with Attleboro scoring first, and then Stephen Toal of the Jr. Vikings answering with a goal assisted by Alex Hathaway.

The second period saw a battle back and forth with Wareham firing many shots on net which were denied by a quick Attleboro goalie.

In the final period Attleboro took the lead once again, but Sean Fagan tied it up with an assist from Stephen Toal and Alex Hathaway. With 7 minutes left in the game, Attelboro scored again to take a 1-point lead.

The Jr. Vikings came back to tie it with a minute and seventeen seconds left in the game with an unassisted slapshot from center ice by Matt St. John and to tie Attleboro 3-3.

The Franklin game saw the Jr. Vikings with a 1-0 victory over their opponents in an evenly matched game in Foxboro

Scoring the only goal for the Vikings was Stephen Toal, assisted by Tyler Callus. Wareham goalie A.J. Bridges got the shut out for the Vikings.

There is just one game left in the regular season until playoffs start which could leave the Jr. Vikings as one of the top teams in the playoffs to beat. Their record is now 11 wins, 8 losses, and 3 ties.

The next game is Friday night, March 9 at 5:40 p.m. in Foxboro.
