George W. Hardsog, 78

Mar 29, 2019

George W. Hardsog, 78, of Wareham passed away at home on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 peacefully surrounded by family.  He was the son of the late Harry and Hope Hardsog. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Penny Hardsog; his son William “Billy” Hardsog and his significant other Camille Andrews and Robert “Bob” Hardsog and his wife Nelia; his brother David Hardsog and his wife Kathryn Hardsog; his granddaughters Jennifer Hardsog and Katelynn Spencer; his great-grandsons Jayden Barber and Dominic Haskell; his cousin Dotty Surprenant and several nieces and nephews.

George was born in Worcester, but as an Army brat, he travelled extensively with his family.  He finally resided in Wareham where he settled down with his loving wife and started their family.  George worked at Benny’s for many years but retired at the age of 50 after putting in 10 years at Sippican Ocean Systems in Marion.

George’s favorite passion was sailing along the canal where he would start his journeys from walking out his back steps and into the bay.  He loved helping and working with his sons on numerous projects and creating his own in his workshop. If he wasn’t out on the water, he was either building or painting.

George had the most contagious laugh and smile and unforgettable dimples he luckily passed down to his children and grandchildren. He will be truly missed.
