Giannina Granata, 96
Giannina Granata, 96, of Waltham, formerly of Arlington and Wareham, passed away Dec. 20 at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. Mrs. Granata was the wife of the late Giuseppe Granata and she was born in Gaeta, Italy the daughter of the late Pietro and Rosa Civita (Dibiase) Galeno.
Mrs. Granata came to the United States between 1969 and 1970. She lived in Arlington for 27 years. She worked many years as a seamstress for Bianchi Bridal Gowns. She was a great loving and caring mother and in keeping with tradition, she always put her family, friends and guest in her home first. She enjoyed her family and cooking.
She is survived by her sons: Damiano Granata of Wareham, Mario Granata and his wife Victoria of Wareham and Vincenzo Granata of Waltham. She was the sister of the late: Alesandro, Joseph, Erasmo, Erasmina, Antonio, Guido and Cosmo Galeno. She was also survived by her grandchildren: Giuseppe Granata and his wife Christine, Stefano Granata and his wife Lisa, Giannina Silverman and her husband David, Christian Granata and Alessandra Granata and her great grandchildren Jarred, Justin, Sarah and Ashley and many loving relatives and friends.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 9:15 a.m. from the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center St., followed by her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Patrick’s Church, located at 82 High St., Wareham. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Dec. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
