The Gleason Family YMCA has received a $400,000 challenge grant from the Penzance Foundation to help finish its expansion.

This means the Penzance Foundation will match donations for the expansion up to $400,000. The grant must be matched by Friday, September 30.

"I couldn't be more excited that the Penzance Foundation has come forward of offer a $400,000 matching grant opportunity," said Laura Prisco, Executive Director, Gleason Family YMCA." I am now counting on the friends of the Y and their generosity to rise and meet this challenge."

Furthermore, the Expansion Steering Committee and Y staff are actively reaching out to area philanthropists, foundations and businesses to help complete the match. Matching this grant will transform the Gleason Family YMCA and finish the expansion.  The addition includes age-appropriate locker rooms and a new multi-purpose room that will double the group fitness programs offered.
