There's a possibility for furry friends to have a new leash on life.

The Church of the Good Shepherd will be holding a blessing of the animals Sunday, Oct. 5 at noon. The blessing will begin on the church lawn at 74 High Street in Wareham.

All are invited to bring their animal companions to the church. The church asks that for safety purposes have pets leashed or in a carrier.

If pets are not able to be present, please bring a picture of them to be blessed. Children of all ages are welcome to bring stuffed animal friends. 

This is a free event and all are welcome. In the event of inclement weather, the blessing will take place inside the Church Hall.
