'On-Going' Acting Workshop changed to Monday evenings

Oct 3, 2016

Buzzards Play Productions is changing the day of its “On-Going” Acting Workshop to Monday evenings. The time has not changed. It continues from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

All sessions are held at the theatre at 3065 Cranberry Highway. The workshop will be facilitated by New York-trained directors, Ann and Santiago Gonzalez. The workshop is open to all persons 18 years of age and older who are interested in developing the art of acting based on the work done by New York’s The Actors’ Studio.

Participants will become involved in acting exercises developed by Constantin Stanislavski and Michael Checkov known as the Stanislavski System or The Method.

Stanislavski's system is a progression of techniques used to train actors to draw believable emotions to their performances through the five senses. His theories and his goal aim to create a workable system that actors would actually like to use. Inexperienced and experienced are welcome. The sessions are free of charge, however, the purchase of scripts may be necessary from time to time.

The Acting Workshop is designed purely for the actor who can apply the techniques with any director or theatre. Directors who would like to gain an understanding of the approach are more than welcome.
