Grumpy's Cranberry Harvest 5k to take place Nov. 1

Oct 21, 2014

The annual Grumpy’s Cranberry Harvest 5k Run/Walk will take place at the A.D. Makepeace Company on 150 Tihonet Road on Nov. 1 at 9 a.m.

This family friendly event attracts every type of runner, and proceeds to benefit the Cranberry Educational Foundation's Scholarship Fund.

The race is named for Robert "Grumpy" Conway, a longtime A.D. Makepeace Company employee and nature-lover who passed away in 2010. A special display of his nature-inspired photography will be available for viewing during the post-race festivities.

There will be cranberry-themed refreshments after the race, and all participants will receive a t-shirt. Unique cranberry focused awards will be presented to first, second and third prize winners in each age category.

Parking is available for the event—follow the signs along Tihonet Rd and volunteers will guide attendees to the designated parking areas.

Advanced number/RFID chip pick-up and registration will be on Friday, Oct. 31 from 4 to 6:30p.m. at Box Mill Hall at A.D. Makepeace, 150 Tihonet Road. Race day number/RFID chip pick-up and registration will be on Saturday, November 1, 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. at Box Mill Hall.
