Haircut for a cause
Talk about an extreme makeover! Five-year-old Jaden Drinkwater walked into Looks Unlimited on Main Street Friday and walked out with a new look that will make her and someone else smile.
Jaden is donating 12 inches of hair to help provide hairpieces to children suffering from long-term medical hair loss.
“It’s going to make someone very happy” said Jaden’s mother, Jenn Drinkwater. Drinkwater herself donated 14 inches of hair two years ago. “It is a great way to support people going through chemotherapy.”
Drinkwater was admittedly nervous at the thought of Jaden’s first haircut being so drastic. Jaden, on the other hand, said she was looking forward to her new do.
"I'm excited. I'm ready," Jaden told stylist Tina Campanario, who donated the haircut because Jaden was donating her hair.
Once the scissors were down, Drinkwater was put at ease by her daughter’s reaction.
“Wow,” Jaden exclaimed. “I love it!”
With 12 inches of hair gone, Jaden said her new shoulder-length bob is just what she wanted.
