Hazel E (Leach) Taber, 82
WAREHAM - Hazel E (Leach) Taber, 82, of Wareham died on Wednesday May 15, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Natick, Ma, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Sylvia Leach. Hazel lived her early childhood years in Dover, Ma until her family moved to Wareham. She was a graduate of Wareham High School and completed secretarial school at Bryant College. Hazel worked as the secretary for the First Congregational Church in Wareham for many years and remained an active church volunteer throughout her lifetime. She worked as an election poll worker and warden for town and state elections for many years.
Hazel is survived by her son Jeffrey and daughter Suzanne of West Wareham. Her granddaughters Jessica and her fiance Russ Werner of Blackstone, Ma, Ashley (Taber) of Lisbon, NH and Courtney Dobart and her husband Joshua of Barnet, VT. Her great grandchildren Harley Taber, Daniel, Emmett, and Colton Dobart. Her sister-in-law Penny Lee and brother-in-law Elton (Jim) Knight of California. She was predeceased by her husband George F, Taber Jr, her son Daniel Taber, her brother Wayne Leach and her companion Richard Wilder.
Relatives and friends may visit on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. Interment will be private.
