Nancy Anne Bjorkman
Nancy Anne Bjorkman
January 16, 1953 – January 10, 2026
Nancy Anne Bjorkman passed away peacefully at home on January 10, 2026, surrounded by the family and friends she fiercely loved and who loved her right back. Born on January 16, 1953, Nancy lived her life exactly on her own terms — loudly, colorfully, compassionately, and with absolutely no filter.
Nancy was the daughter of Olga and Peter Prawillo, both of whom preceded her in death. She carried their strength forward in everything she did, especially in her lifelong calling of caring for others. She began her medical career as a phlebotomist at Cardinal Cushing Hospital and went on to work as a CNA for most of her life — a role she didn’t just perform, but owned. At Bourne Manor, Nancy helped start the union, proving that advocating for people wasn’t just her job — it was her nature. She was, unapologetically, a badass rebel with a heart of gold.
If you knew Nancy, you knew her energy. She radiated warmth and welcome, but she was also blunt, honest, and refreshingly unfiltered. People sometimes needed a minute to get over being slightly intimidated — and then they loved her forever. Nancy didn’t sugarcoat life, but she showed up for people in ways that mattered. Deeply.
Nancy was fiercely loyal and deeply loved by her ride-or-die friends — the people who showed up without question, stood by her through everything, and never wavered. She is lovingly remembered by Arlene, Nana Gordon, Janet, Scott, Elaine, and Amy, whose unwavering friendship meant the world to her.
Outside of work, Nancy was a crafter extraordinaire — an award-winning crocheter and gardener with a legendary creative streak. She could crochet just about anything… including, famously, a truly impressive bong. Her love of color, eclectic treasures, and collected T-shirts was unmistakable — her style, like her spirit, could never be mistaken for anyone else’s.
Nancy was also a devoted animal lover. She leaves behind her beloved guard cat and best friend, Frank Sinatra Bjorkman, who took his job very seriously and loved her just as fiercely.
She is survived by her four children:
• Peter Bjorkman, his wife Melissa, daughters Hannah Bjorkman and Haleigh Nolden, and Haleigh’s husband Brock Nolden
• Becky Bjorkman, daughter Tori-Anne Bjorkman, her wife Kathryn, and Nancy’s great-grandson Montgomery Bjorkman, the son of Tori-Anne and Kathryn
• Mary-Anne Bjorkman, and grandchildren Milla Bjorkman and Zaeleigh Bjorkman
• Amy Tetrault, her husband David Tetrault, and fur-grandchildren Ava and Nacho
Nancy’s legacy lives on in her family, her friends, and the countless lives she cared for, stood up for, laughed with, and told the honest truth to — whether they were ready for it or not.
Per Nancy’s written request, mourning should come with a celebration. Everyone is encouraged to raise a drink in her honor — preferably a glass of white wine, Dr. McGillicuddy’s with Coke, or a pumpkin beer that must have a sugar rim. No exceptions.
She was fearless, loving, wildly creative, union-starting, rule-breaking, animal-adoring, and impossible to forget.
Just like she’d want it — Nancy left her mark.
