High school fall sports kick off

Wareham High School athletes returned to the field for their first games of the 2026 fall season.
The boys soccer, girls soccer, field hockey and girls volleyball teams all played their first games on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
“We’ve trained really hard for two weeks,” boys soccer coach Charlie Dyer said before his team’s game against Bristol County Agricultural High School. He said his team was very athletic, and that they had to play physical soccer to start the season.
That hard work paid off on Tuesday. The boys soccer team, led by his class of eight seniors, beat Bristol County Agricultural 6-1.
The field hockey team lost 4-0 to Martha’s Vineyard Regional.
The girls soccer team lost their game at Bristol County Agricultural 2-0.
The junior varsity girls volleyball team lost 3-0 to the Diman Regional Vocational/Technical team.
