High school students and Wareham Fire Dept. collaborate on new website
The Wareham Fire Department along with help from Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School are developing an interactive Fire Department website.
The site will include news releases, safety information and forms needed for some of our department regulations, including the Open Burning Permit form (January of 2015) which will be available to download, fill in, pay for, and activate when complete.
On Wednesday, May 21, the department hosted a field trip for the Old Colony juniors who have been assigned the project and began approximately six months ago. The Computer Information Technology Department instructor, Ryan Robidoux, toured all the stations of the department with the the class to see what they have been working on.
On that date, a presentation of the site was given to the Chief Officers of the Departments as well as Retired Lieutenant Ted Hatch and firefighter Chris McIntosh, coordinators for the Department project. It is estimated that the site will be live by the end of June 2014.
The site will be a continuing work in progress. To get to the new site, when live, log on to www.warehamfiredistrict.org and click on the Fire Department tab. The site is currently active for the Wareham Fire District Water Department.
