Jane E. (Waddell) Russell, 88
Jane E. (Waddell) Russell, 88, of Onset, died March 6 in the Tremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Charles A. Russell and the daughter of the late Kenneth and Pauline (Davison) Waddell.
She was born in Saratoga Springs, New York and lived in Stoughton and Brockton before moving to Onset many years ago. She graduated from Cobleskill College in New York.
She was an active member of the First Congregational Church and member of its Women’s Club.
She enjoyed reading and solving crossword puzzles. She loved her family, especially visits from her grandchildren and great granddchildren.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Russell of West Bridgewater; two daughters, Janice Thomas of Wake Forest, North Carolina and Elaine Johnson of West Wareham; five grandchildren, Lisa Kordonowy, Kerry Hallisey, Sarah Rich, Megan Manchester and Kevin Johnson; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lewis Waddell.
Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 13 in the First Congregational Church, 11 Gibbs Ave., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
