Janet Louise Nichols–Davies, age 72, formerly of Newton and Foxborough, passed away May 28 surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Mary (Murphy) Nichols.

Janet was born on Feb. 26, 1945 in Newton and graduated from Newton North High School. She was employed as a senior programmer for the New England Journal of Medicine for several years. She was the secretary for the Swifts Beach Improvement Association for many years. She loved to travel, spent winters in Hilton Head, South Carolina and was an avid reader.  She loved nature movies, animals and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as the most caring person who took on other’s problems.

Beloved wife of Raymond Davies. Loving mother of Chris Neufell of Berkley and Andy and his wife Lynn Neufell of Norton. Adoring grandmother of Sean, Kelly, Tricia, Jessica, Adam and Melissa. Sister of Charles Nichols and his wife Susan of Middleton. Aunt of Cheri and Rand Nichols. Former spouse of Peter Neufell. She was cared for lovingly by her step-daughter Elisabeth Wright. Cherished by many extended family members.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend an informal celebration of Janet's life that will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 17 at the Swift’s Beach Improvement Association Hall, 38 Pleasant St., Wareham.
