Jens Ruban Jensen, 60, diesel mechanic, enjoyed outdoors

Jens Ruban Jensen of Onset died  August 19 at Tobey Hospital after a long illness. He was the 60-year-old son of Anne-Lisa (Andersen) Jensen and the late Anders Poulsen Jensen.

Born in Denmark in 1951, Mr. Jensen immigrated to Canada in 1957 and then to the United States in 1964. He was a diesel mechanic and worked for Gault Transportation and J & R Towing.

Mr. Jensen also spent years as a resident of Alaska where he owned and operated his own fishing boat, the Nellie Bly. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristin A. Staley of Wareham and her children; his mother, Anne-Lisa (Andersen) Jensen of Smyrna, DE; his brother, Erik R. Jensen of W. Wareham; his sisters, Jytte R. Swanson of Smyrna, DE and Sandra R. Harvey of Sandwich, his nieces and nephews, Cara Dahill, Michael Jensen, Erik H. Jensen, James Swanson, Annalise Fratta, Jonathan Harvey, Jennifer Harvey, and great-nieces and nephews Jacob Jensen, Aleksandra Jensen, Conor Dahill, Anders A. Fratta, Anders M. Jensen, and Aksel Jensen.

A funeral service will be held on Tues., Aug. 23 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham at 6:30 p.m. Friends and relatives may visit from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be private.
