Jo-Anne (Woollam) Lihzis, age 69, died peacefully after a brief illness on Aug. 21, 2022.

She was the loving daughter of the late James and Elinor (Gray) Woolham and grew up in Bourne. She was a graduate of Bourne High School Class of 1972 and would marry her sweetheart, Frank Lihzis in 1978. They settled in Wareham where they raised their children.

Jo-Anne and her late husband Frank both loved reading and traveling. They took many wonderful family vacations, and both were active with St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on the Canal. Jo-Anne was a hard worker who worked many years for Wareham Public Schools. In her down time, she enjoyed cooking, reading on the beach, and being with her family. Jo-Anne was funny and loving and will be missed by all who knew her.

Loving mother of Kenneth B. Lihzis of Wareham and Stephanie M. Lihzis of Wareham. Loving sister of James Woollam and his wife Roseann of Bourne, David Woollam and his wife Janet of NH, and the late Steven and Sandy Woollam. Jo-Anne is also survived by brother-in-law John Lihzis and his wife Karin of Mashpee, Royal Lihzis of Colorado, and many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was also predeceased by the late Ronald Lihzis.

Visiting hours will be held at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham on Friday, Sept. 9 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral will be from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on the Canal, 165 Main St. Buzzards Bay on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m.
