Dec 7, 2022

Fall River-Joann P. Rawlings (Rogers) of Wareham passed away peacefully on Nov. 30th, 2022 at the age of 63 (29 as she would say) with her family at her bedside. She was the wife of the late William Rawlings and daughter of the late John (Jack) and Helen (Wainio) Rogers.

Joann worked at Jimmy’s IGA in the cash office for 30 plus years until they closed. In her spare-time she was the family baker especially during the holidays. She was famous for her brownies and breads which would never disappoint. She enjoyed teaching and passing down the knowledge to family members how to bake and decorate cakes which was taught to her by her aunt when she was a little girl.

Joann was always up for adventures, car rides to nowhere and trying new restaurants. This past year she enjoyed meeting up with her friends for coffee every morning at Nouria. She was definitely one of a kind and had a most precious soul. She will forever be loved and missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her son, step sons Jimmy Rawlings, Robert and Richard Rawlings. She is also survived by her adopted sister Althea McNevin, her nephew Shawn Hill and nieces Jennifer Keswick and Tabatha Hill all from Wareham and many great and great great nieces and nephews.

She also leaves behind in her own words “her favorite cousin Billy Phillips and many loving relatives and friends. Her best-friend Dale Cobb and a very special friend “E” . She was the sister of the late Judy Hill (Rogers) and aunt of the late Stephen Rogers Sr. and great aunt of the late Victoria Moran.
