John A. 'Nonnie' Gonsalves, 72
John A. “Nonnie” Gonsalves, 72, of Onset, died January 29 in Tobey Hospital. He was the son of the late Arthur Roderick and Elizabeth J. Gonsalves.
He lived in Mashpee and Hyannis for many years before moving to Onset.
Mr. Gonsalves worked as a construction laborer in the area for many years before retiring.
He enjoyed reading and sports and was a car enthusiast.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Darcie DeAngelis of Onset and Lisa Gonsalves of Mashpee; 3 sons, John A. “Butch” Gonsalves of N.J., Derrick Gonsalves of Virginia, and Brian Gonsalves of Seattle, WA; 2 brothers, Arthur Roderick of New Bedford and Wallace DeGrace of Hyannis; 3 sisters, Yvonne Martin of New Bedford, Linda Andrade of Providence, and Mona Lisa Roderick of New Bedford; his former wife, Bertha (DeGrace) of Virginia; an aunt, Catherine “Kay” Lopes of Onset, an uncle, Richard Gonsalves of Onset, and a special niece, Kelley Andrews of Wareham; several grandchildren; nephews, and nieces.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2012 in St. Mary’s Church, Onset Ave., Onset.
Visiting hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway.
