John William Correia, 72

John William Correia, 72, of Middleboro died November 8 in Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River. He was the husband of the late Rosemarie (Pasiuk) Correia and the son of the late Abel and Mary (Correia) Correia.  

He grew up in Easton on his family’s farm with many aunts, uncles and cousins, learning about his heritage and how to speak Portuguese. He graduated from Oliver Ames High School.

Mr. Correia was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart.

He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.  He was charitable man who donated to many health-related causes and to his parish.

Mr. Correia worked in the shipping and receiving department at the Foxboro Company in Bridgewater and Foxboro for 40 years before retiring on his 60th birthday in 2007.  He met his wife Rosemarie while working there and they married upon his return from the Vietnam War.  They were married for 35 years.

Survivors include his daughter, Cathleen Longfield and her husband Gregory of Wareham; his son, Christian Correia of Middleboro; his grandson, Mace Longfield; his granddaughter, Emma Longfield both of Wareham; a niece Stephanie Correia and her fiancé Jon Barbosa; his nephews, Mark Correia of Orlando, FL, Doug Clive of Rangeley, ME, Aaron Clive of Wareham, Matthew Childs of Alton Bay, NH. He was also the brother-in-law of Veronica and Stephan Childs of Alton Bay, NH, Margaret and Douglas Clive of Rangeley, ME, Frank Pasiuk of Spring Hill, FL; and many cousins in the Southeastern, MA area.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.

His funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, in Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre St., Middleboro. Burial will follow in Nemaskett Hill Cemetery.
