Jordan Pina, 29

Jul 11, 2017

Jordan Daniel “Jordie” Pina, 29, of East Wareham died of his injuries sustained in an accident on July 5. He was the youngest son of Michael “Mikie” Pina, Sr. and Renita (Barboza) Pina.

Jordan was born Dec. 30, 1987 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. He was a mason by trade. He completed the 11th grade at Wareham High School, although most of his school life was spent in the Bourne School system.

Jordie was known for his smile. He would give anyone the shirt off his back, oftentimes it was his last shirt. He was honest, hardworking, devoted and most of all loving to all that knew him. He was often known to remark on a woman’s shoes. He wore his hat cocked to the side with sunglasses and his work boots on. He loved sneakers. He wanted a family, a home and to go on a cruise to Alaska. He didn’t like to drive. He could eat for sure, he and those crème horns, he and his Ma’s favorites. He loved to have someone scratch his back. He was never one to back down or afraid to speak his mind. He was wise beyond his years who was a protector with a heart of gold. Children loved the heck out of Jordie. Everyone is going to miss him – especially the love of his live, Heather King.

Jordan loved fishing and hunting especially with this brother, Jared a/k/a, “Bull.” They killed many deer and caught many fish. To Michael, Jr., he was his “baby brother” they enjoyed remote control cars, dirt bikes and four wheelers. Above all, he loved his only sister, Chantelle, “Tilly,” her best friend, right hand and her protector. She was his running partner and he could always ask her to chase off some girl. She will forever feel his loss, as we all will. He was often told, “You’re Marcus right?” even though Jordan had the “angel kiss patch of grey hair.” The bond between them, from loving to fighting, they had each other’s back. For many he will be forever Markie’s twin. He tried too hard to save Chelsea and King, two dogs lost in his brother’s house fire.

What can a mother say about her son, Jordie? He was born so quietly, late at night, on his Uncle Junior’s birthday a short time ago, only 29 years. I had a lullaby for him, I loved him from the start, I always will. No son is perfect, but he was to me. He is mine, always and forever. Never one to start a fight, he did give me some grey hairs. Having childhood surgeries, bumps and scrapes. He really didn’t answer me back, he would simply say, “But Ma” and smile, like only Jordie could do. He loved my shoes.

What can a father say about his son, Jordan? He was taught to be a hard worker, was always in the company of his “Dad.” They loved to eat together, especially those dry chicken sandwiches, throw back some drink, after a hard day’s work. Dad is still waiting at the door, with his chair to see him walk in. They always went in search of each other. Never a day without each other. Dad always told him, “Jordie be safe, be careful.”

I could go on and on about our son; however, I want each and every one to reflect on this, please don’t remember how he died, only how Jordan lived.

He is survived mother and father; his siblings, Jared and his wife Ann, Falmouth, Michael Pina, Jr. of Fall River; his only sister Chantelle Marie Pina-Miranda, Marcus Pina and his wife Rebecca, and Derrick Mendes and Michael Mendes both of North Carolina; his paternal grandmother, Vivian Pina of West Wareham; his maternal grandmother, Delores Barboza of West Wareham; his lifelong love and companion, Heather King; and many nieces nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
