Joseph and Lorraine Pulsifer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) Pulsifer, aged 95 and Lorraine Pulsifer (Meegan), aged 94, of Wareham. Remarkably, after 75 years of marriage, they departed this world within 12 hours of each other, on November 10th and 11th, respectively.

Joe Pulsifer, born on October 3rd, 1928, in Brighton, MA, was the son of Fred and Grace Pulsifer. A graduate of Brighton High School, Joe served in the Army overseas in Japan. After the war Joe graduated from Berklee College of Music where he studied his passion, piano. Joe went on to teach at Berklee School of music before founding his own music school, ABC Pulsifer School of Music in Newton where he taught numerous students. As a talented jazz pianist, Joe graced the stage of various restaurants and country clubs in the metro west Boston area.

Lorraine Pulsifer (Meegan), born on February 12th, 1929, in Brighton, MA, was the daughter of John and Margaret Meegan. A graduate of Brighton High School, Lorraine played an integral role alongside her husband Joe managing the music school while raising their four sons.

Both Joe and Lorraine lived life to the fullest, sharing a love for family and friends. Joe enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing and entertaining with his piano skills. Lorraine was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and caring for her grandchildren. Their summers were spent in their beloved Wareham home, where they eventually settled full time. In their later years, they found joy in traveling to North Conway and exploring the casinos in Connecticut.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frederick and Winfred, and sisters Mary and Augusta. Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, brothers John, Paul, and Bob, and sister Mae Meegan. Both are also preceded in death by their grandson Matthew.

They are survived by sons Joe, Jr. and his wife MaryBeth of Paxton; Bob and Judi of Wareham; Kevin and Jean of Rochester; and Mark and Amanda of Hanover. Their legacy continues through their grandchildren Benjamin, Sarah Hill, Lyndsie, Greg, Eric, Jessica, and Ashley; great grandchildren Tristan, Kiera, Jackson, Emma, Ava, Aaren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Chapman Funerals and Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 11 a.m. to 12 noon with a memorial service to follow at noon.

Immediately after the service, a reception will be held at the Rosebrook Event Center, 50 Rosebrook Place, Wareham.
