The Gateway Jr. Vikings middle school hockey team ended 2011 with a bang on Friday, December 30, grabbing an 8-0 win over Mansfield.

Sean Fagan had a memorable night on the ice, scoring five goals with two assists. Stephen Toal added two goals to the score board and had four assists. Brian Miller tucked another goal in, while Alex Hathaway and Conor Kelly both had one assist.

Coach Howie Ladd said he was very pleased with the team's passing during the game, including the "triangle, the for-checking, and the back-checking."

Ladd also praised goalies Tegan Andre and Chase Cunningham for "outstanding goal tending."

The Jr. Vikings are now 6-7-2 for the season.
