Katherine P. MacWilliam, 75, of Middleboro and formerly of Wareham, died Dec. 20, 2019 in the Hannah B. G. Shaw Home for the Aged in Middleboro.  Born in Milton, May 19, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Esther (Schow) MacWilliam.

She was born in Milton and raised her family and lived in Wareham for most of her adult life.  She graduated from Milton High School and Burdett College in Boston. 

Ms. MacWilliam worked as a secretary for Church in the Pines and for the Wareham Courier for many years before retiring.

She was a devoted Christian and a lifelong member of Church in the Pines. She earned the name ‘crafty Kathy’ by family members for the beautiful pieces she made. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and other crafts along with spending time with her family and many close friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Austin of Wareham; her son, Eric Sobolewski of Sandwich; 3 brothers, Gerald MacWilliam of Milton, James MacWilliam of PA and David MacWilliam of FL; 2 sisters, Martha Howard of FL and Anne Callanan of Middleboro; 2 grandchildren, Amanda Brousseau and Kyle Austin; 3 great grandchildren, Kala Austin, Winter Austin and Genevieve Brousseau.

Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 in the Church in the Pines,  17 Carver Rd., West Wareham. 

Visiting hours have been omitted.  Arrangements are by the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, Wareham.
