Kenneth A. DeLuze, Sr., 83
WAREHAM – Kenneth A. DeLuze, Sr., 83, of Wareham formerly of Hingham died Monday, May 27, 2024 at his home. He was the husband of Erma (Pina) DeLuze.
Born on Nantucket, he was the son of the late David DeLuze and Mary (Angelo) DeLuze. Due to the death of his biological mother, he was raised by the late Nora DeLuze.
At the age of 10, Mr. DeLuze moved to Hingham and graduated from Hingham High School in 1959. He has owned and operated DeLuze Collision Center in Weymouth since 1966 with the business now operated by his son. He moved to Wareham in 2009.
Mr. DeLuze was known as the "man from Nantucket" and the "man who loved cars". He fixed cars, sold cars and gave friends and family rides in cars. He also enjoyed reading and gardening.
Survivors include his wife Erma of Wareham; his children, Kenneth A. DeLuze, Jr. of Hingham, Donna M. DeLuze of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Mary DeLuze-Voner of Norwell, Louis J. DeLuze of Wareham and Darlene P. DeLuze of Plymouth; his siblings, John DeLuze of Greensville, NC, Mary Fernandes of Wareham, Eleanor Dunham of Washington, D.C., and William DeLuze of Hingham; his grandchildren, Nicole DeLuze, Kenneth DeLuze, III, Alanna Grassi, Justin Andrade, Benjamin Andrade, Ashley Voner, Brittany Voner, Harold McCoo, III and Kaitlyn DeLuze; his great grandchildren, Harold McCoo, IV, Deven Padua, Ayla Shnitzer and Eliana Shnitzer; one great great granddaughter, Luna Padua; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, the late David DeLuze, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home with a celebration of life to follow at the Dudley L. Brown V.F.W. Post, 4 Gibbs Ball Park Rd., Onset at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
