Kristi Melloni, 50

Sep 14, 2018

Kristi A. Melloni, 50, of Carver died Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston after a long illness.

Born in Wareham, she was the daughter of the late Sybil (Mosher) and Richard H. Melloni, Sr.  A graduate of Wareham High School, Class of 1986, Kristi received her bachelor’s degree from Quinnipiac University.  She later earned her master’s degree in Special Education and was a teacher for the Plymouth Public School System where she was affectionately known as “Miss M” to her students.

Kristi had an infectious smile and personality; always the loud one in the group, much like her father.  She never complained about her illness and always found the positive in life. She shared this exuberance with her family, friends and especially her students.  She will be deeply missed.

Kristi was a devoted New England Patriots fan, enjoyed traveling, especially to Walt Disney World, and loved taking her dog Sadie for walks and lounging around with her cat Psycho. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her three nieces, watching their high school drama performances, dance and singing recitals or conversations over lunch.

She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Deborah Barros of Columbus, Georgia, Donna Ouellette of Wareham, Diane Ouellette of Fairhaven, Richard Melloni, Jr. of Wareham, and Steven Melloni of Rochester; her nieces and nephew, Brad Barros, Lexi Melloni, Julia Melloni and Sarah Melloni.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, Sept. 21 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham from 5 to 8 p.m.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Dick Melloni Youth Foundation, 40 Nathaniel’s Dr., Rochester, MA 02770.
