A three-evening Boat America Safe Boating Course is being offered by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

It will take place the evenings of Monday, June 10 through Wednesday, June 12 at the West Wareham Fire Station #2, 2367 Cranberry Highway. Each session will run from 6 to 9 p.m. and will have a mid-course break.

Topics such as operations, safety, fueling, planning ahead, docking, boating laws, trailer-ing and water sports are included. All experience levels are welcome, and the format is interactive and informal.

A final exam will occur during the last session. Successful completion of the course, including the final exam, will earn participants a Boat America Safe Boating Course certificate from the U.S. Coast Guard. Some insurance companies may provide discounts to those holding certificates.

Pre-registration is required. The class cost, including the book and all materials, is $35 for each attendee. Contact the Auxiliary by calling or texting 508-538-1830 or emailing flotilla.63@yahoo.com.
