LIBRARY SUMMER READING PROGRAM STARTS

Come join the Friends and Library Staff for fun, literacy, music, exercise, story walks and healthy eating!

Studies show that students need to practice their reading skills over the summer in order to be ready for the next grade in school. This year, the overall theme is "Summer Reading and Healthy Eating."

Themes will include Lawn Art, Gardening, Butterflies, Baseball, Bubble Day, and Olympic Field Day.

Pick up a schedule at the Main or Spinney Library. The program runs June 21 to August 11.

Monday: Spinney Library--Storytime at 10:30 and Free Lunch Program at the Main Library Playground--11:30 to 12:30

Tuesday: Main Library--Gardening 10:00 am and Storytime at 10:30 am. Free Lunch Program at the Main Library Playground--11:30 to 12:30

Wednesday: Main Library--Gardening 10:00 am and Storytime at 10:30 am. Free Lunch Program at the Main Library Playground--11:30 to 12:30

Thursday: Main Library--Gardening 10:00 am and Music with Mar 10:30 am. Teddy Bear Story Time at 6:30 pm. Free Lunch Program at the Main Library Playground--11:30 to 12:30

Friday: Main Library--Free Lunch Program at the Main Library Playground--11:30 to 12:30

(Note: no Library services at the Main Library on Monday, Wednesdays, and Friday, which are the days it is usually closed.)

Children should pick up their reading logs as soon as possible and read for twenty minutes a day, log it, bring it to the library every week and be entered in a grand prize raffle for Fitbits. Prizes will be awarded to preschool, school aged, and adults.
