Lincoln Mark, 84
Lincoln Mark, 84, of Wareham, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 13, in the comfort of his home with family. He was the loving husband of Bolin (Leung) Mark for 62 years.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, on June 14, 1929 to the late Chung Ming and Hoo Ho Mark, the family moved to China where he was raised and educated. Later he met his wife, Bolin and had two sons.
He moved back to the United States where he spent several years working across the country in several cities including San Francisco and New York. In 1965 he moved his family to Mississippi, opened a market. That was also the place of the births of his first and second daughters.
He settled in Wareham in 1969, opened the China Garden Restaurant and was the owner and chef for 25 years. His third daughter was born in Wareham, where he remained for more than 40 years. His favorite pastimes included travel, mahjong, cars, music and movies.
Lincoln is survived by his wife; his daughter in-law, Jomena Mark of Wareham, wife of his predeceased son Ivan; his son, Edwin Mark and his wife Rose of S. Weymouth; three daughters, Ellen Da Fonseca and her husband Nilton of Macau, China, Christina Webb and her husband Bryan of Easton and Sally Mark-Wenger and her husband Ethan of Braintree. He was the proud grandfather of Brian and Vanessa Mark, Lauren, Yasmin, and Hayden Da Fonseca, Sofia and Ava Webb and Ella Wenger. Additionally, he is survived by brother, Anthony Mark of Fairhaven; and his sister, Lillian Kwong of Brighton and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, the late Thid Koy Mark, Ming Kong Mark, John Mark, Luigi Mark, Etta Chin and Linda Lee.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at South Dartmouth Cemetery, 507 Elm St., S. Dartmouth at 11 a.m.
