Linda M. Glennon, 76
ONSET - Linda M. Glennon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at 76 years old. She was surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in 1948 in Quincy to the late Katherine (Perro) Brown and Burton Brown, Linda attended North Quincy High School followed by Aquinas College. She continued her education at Boston College, earning both a Bachelor’s degree, Cum Laude, and a Master’s degree, Magna Cum Laude. Linda spent a decade as the Director of Alumni Relations at Boston College Law School from 1997 through 2007, organising alumni chapters throughout the country and internationally. She continued her career at Boston Latin School as the Director of Alumni Relations for several more years, organising their 375th Anniversary Gala. She transitioned seamlessly to a career in real estate, which came easily to her, as she was following her true passion. Clients loved her for her easy-going personality, positive attitude, work ethic, and honesty.
Linda had a zest for life. She was happiest sailing in the summers in Quincy Bay and World’s End or taking the boat down the coast to Buzzards Bay, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket or Block Island. Spending time on the water with friends and family was always a source of pure joy for her. As she put it, when she stepped on the boat “all of my cares just slip away.” She also took great pride in creating a welcoming home, for both big holidays and simple dinner parties, and everything in between. Everyone was received with open arms. She enjoyed spending time in her beautiful gardens that she planted and nurtured. After relocating full-time to Onset in 2003, she was involved numerous causes that were close to her heart. She spear-headed the planning of the Gala celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Cape Cod Canal. Additionally, she helped organise the semi-annual Wareham Garden Club Tour. She was a member of the Point Independence Yacht Club and loved spending time there, enjoying the view of the water. In retirement, she enjoyed spending her winters in St. Maarten with Tom and friends, traveling with her family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She also loved spending time with her friends, most recently with a ladies lunch group that met for “Fun Day Mondays” in the summer months.
She adored her children and grandchildren and loved spending quality time with them. She was kind, generous, and hardworking. She was loving and her family was the light of her life. She was an exemplary role model. Linda will be deeply missed by those that knew her.
Linda is survived by her husband Thomas Glennon, daughter Jill Glennon of Onset and fiancé Coleen Crawford, son Marc Glennon and his wife Laura Glennon of Hingham, and her grandchildren Bennett Glennon and Griffin Glennon.
Linda was the loving sister of Lois Oaks, Donna Smith, the late Patricia Dolan, the late Warren Brown and the late Burton Brown and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are welcome to join in a celebration of Linda’s life on December 3rd at the Hingham Yacht Club from 4 - 8 pm. There will be a funeral Mass held on Thursday, December 4th, at St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham a 11 am followed by a private burial service.
