Lindsey's receives business award
Cheri Lindsey, owner of Lindsey's Family Restaurant in Wareham, was selected by the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce to receive a SCORE business award at the chamber's seventeenth annual awards breakfast on Thursday, May 20 at the Old Yarmouth Inn.
Lindsey's Restaurant has been a thriving business in East Wareham since the spring of 1948, when Paul and Frances Lindsey first opened the doors to their take-out, fried-clam restaurant. Cheri Lindsey continues the family tradition along with long time Lindsey's employee and general manager Mary Labonte. The restaurant prides itself on serving homemade food using only the freshest local ingredients while providing friendly service.
What truly sets Cheri Lindsey and her restaurant apart from the competition is her commitment to give back to the community. Cheri and her staff are always "paying it forward." They have recently donated their famous seafood bisque to an event supporting Massachusetts breast cancer patients, 200 Thanksgiving dinners to the needy and elderly, and catered lunch for volunteers at the Habitat for Humanity Women's Build, just to name a few instances. Lindsey's also awards a $5,000 scholarship in memory of Shon Shadrick. The scholarship is awarded to a student from the area who intends to pursue a career in Special Education.
